In Response To COVID-19

Posted on March 20, 2020 by Deanna Spiotta

Healthy Baby Network’s Board of Directors and staff take COVID-19 (coronavirus) very seriously and understand how vitally important it is to stay connected to you and to continue providing support and assistance to our parents and families who are navigating difficult situations.

Please know that while we are balancing the need to provide emergency services for our families with the safety needs of our staff, our commitment to babies and their parents has not changed.

Following guidelines from the New York State Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control, we cannot deliver services in person, but we will be providing assistance via phone, social media, and email. We have closed our office, but all staff are responding to email messages, phone calls, and requests from parents for assistance. Phone call responses may be delayed, but we will respond as soon as we are able.

We are cancelling all agency community events and meetings until further notice. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Community Networking Session on March 26
  • Fatherhood Program Informational Meeting on March 26
  • Community Action Network Meeting on April 8
  • Women’s Health Day on May 13

We’re all in this together. Want to help?

During this time of extraordinary challenge, we are helping families access food, baby formula, and baby supplies like diapers and wipes.

Your support of our work is invaluable. We have are opened a crisis campaign to ensure that the babies, parents, and families we care for are able to weather the crisis. You can help by donating directly to Healthy Baby Network here or by giving to the United Way’s new Community Crisis Fund and directing your gift to Healthy Baby Network. We are proud to partner with the United Way in efforts to address the crisis. You can find more information on this community-wide response on the United Way website.

Thank you for all you do for our community members.

For Parents and Families:

We will be here for you.

You can contact us by:

  • Emailing us at info@healthy-baby.net.
  • Completing an online request for services by clicking here.
  • Leaving a message at (585) 546-4930 ext. 212 or 204.

We can provide help with finding food, baby formula, and baby supplies like diapers and wipes, or with connecting to other services.

There are things you can do to protect yourself and your family:

  • Wash everyone’s hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, including the back of the hands and under the fingernails, A LOT.
  • Stay far away from people who are sweating, coughing, or sneezing.
  • Try not to touch your face unless you wash your hands first.
  • Elders and people with chronic health conditions (heart disease, diabetes, asthma) can get sick very easily. *Remember you can’t always tell who’s sick, so try not to get in other people’s personal space.
  • Check on your family, friends, and neighbors by phone or by keeping at least six feet apart. Not everyone is able to get out or ask for help, so check on them and make sure they are safe and healthy.
