Executive Director to Lead Local Volunteers to Texas to Assist Refugee Families

“Some people actually declare themselves at the appropriate port and say, ‘I am a refugee seeking asylum.’ That is not a crime.” – Lauren Deutsch, Esq., Executive Director
Incarcerating refugee families seeking asylum is putting people in jail who have committed no crime. Many children spend months or years in a detention facility while their families’ asylum claims move forward, causing trauma at a young age.
“The impact to families is devastating.”
As part of our effort to help families build resilience, Healthy Baby Network is working to send attorneys and mental health professionals to assist refugee families and make sure every baby and child has a chance at safety.
Please help us cover travel costs to Texas for volunteers who are donating their precious time and expertise to help end the human rights emergency that is occurring at the United States border.
