Women who think they might be pregnant need to see a medical provider as soon as possible so that any underlying health issues can be addressed before the developing fetus is harmed. To assist a client in finding a medical provider, see the searchable PNMC Health Care Providers Directory.
PNMC’s Healthy Start Center/Unity and Comienzo Sano/CFHC provide case management for women who are pregnant or parenting a child under the age of 2. The Centers also provide stand-alone prenatal education groups, stress management, life skills classes, and mental health services. Participants need not engage in case management, and may be receiving case management or other services from other perinatal support programs. There are a variety of programs that offer perinatal support. To find an appropriate program:
The Perinatal Network is the lead agency for the PeerPlace Network maternal/child electronic referral system. Members of the Network are able to make and receive on-line referrals to other programs and see what other programs the family is engaged with; the system also has a robust case management support program. For more information about PeerPlace Networks, contact Patricia Brantingham at (585) 546-4930 x214 or pbrantingham@perinatalnetwork.net or visit PeerPlace Networks. |
