Other Issues?

Many women face a host of non-medical complications that compromise their ability to have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. Issues ranging from interpersonal problems to lack of safe housing can create stress that damages both the mom and her fetus. They also may need information and guidance about child development and effective parenting. There are many programs available in the community to provide these services. To find an appropriate program:

  • Perinatal Services Brochure lists local Support Services for pregnant women and includes descriptions of the services offered, any eligibility requirements for the program and contact/referral information.
  • The Perinatal Network Resource Directory is a searchable listing – just enter the issue or subject and see the available programs with contact information.
  • Call the Monroe County Department of Public Health Referral number – SPOE (Single Point of Entry) at 585-753-KIDS (5437) for help making an appropriate referral.
